Catty holiday

My human has disappeared for a bit, so I have decided to take a catty holiday.

He went out one night, and wasn't home when I meowed at the back door.

So... I have gone to visit one of my other favourite humans. They feed me chicken, give me belly rubs, and have a nice catty friend for me to play with.
The only slight problem is that the lady human smells of sweet stuff - it's a bit strange, and my fur tastes of it when I clean myself.

I shall return to my original human in a bit, but I think he needs to be made to miss me first.

New fence?

Something has changed in my territory.

I don't like it when this happens - it confuses me.

Usually, I wander into my next door human's garden through one of the gaps in the fence, or where it has fallen over completely.
Today, I wandered over and there was a big
, tall, orange thing in my way... the humans have put up a new fence!

This has given me all sorts of catty problems. This new fence doesn't smell of me. I will have to rub myself all over it, and spray it... this may take a number of days.

I also have to get used to jumping over it now. I will have to get used to its height, judge my catty jumping angles, and test out how sturdy it is.

I don't like all of this.

I wish humans would keep things in my territory as they are.

I shall have to meow my protests to both my human and my next door humans.

New sitting spot

I am happy.

I has been outside and discovered something. There was a large pot which had a plant in it.
That pot no longer has a plant in - it's empty.

It
fits my little catty bum perfectly.  I can now sit in it and watch over my entire territory; every mouse that moves, every bird that lands, every bee or fly that comes past.

I think the empty pot might be my new favourite place for sits.

Happy.

Practising on feets

I like my human, sometimes.

I really like him when he's having sleeps... it means I can practise my pouncing on his feets. They make great, fake meeces.
This makes me happy.

I did several pounces on my human's feets this morning, then he woke up, kept moving, and said 'piss off, Clive'.

I wasn't sure what this meant, so I nose-nudged him in the face until he got up and put some food out for me.
After that, I went out to hunt real meeces.

Kick, kick, kick

Does anyone else find that the warmer weather makes them go funny?

I like to lie in the sunshine,
and when my human comes along I like to roll over to greet him and allow him to give me a belly rub.

But... sometimes my catty instincts come into play.

I'll be lying down, all happy, and meeces or bunnies will suddenly be within my paws, so I'll go into bunny kicks
... then I'll look down and see that there are no meeces or bunnies there.

It's very confusing. I'm not sure why this happens.

I hope I catch some real meeces and bunnies. For now, I'll just lick my belly fur.

Chickeny nose

I was enjoying some chicken in gravy this morning, when my face went too far into my food bowl and I got some on my little catty nose.

Normally I would lick food off my face after I've finished eating, but I couldn't get my tongue to reach the bit that was on my nose.... it was too high up.

I could smell chicken and gravy, but I couldn't get to it. I wasn't happy.

I meowed in protest.

I meowed at my human, but he failed to understand my situation.

I rubbed my face on a bed, door frames, and chair legs... then licked them all. It didn't do any good - I could still smell chicken on my nose.

I tried really hard to stretch my tongue upwards, but it still wouldn't reach.

I went outside and tried to wipe my face on plants, but the chicken smell wouldn't go.

I'm not sure what to do
next. If anyone knows - cat or human - please tell me.

Chasing

There are lots more butterflies around. I like this.

I saw one today and started to follow it. It landed on some plants, so I swiped at it. I missed.

It flew off towards the grass, so I ran after it.

It landed on a flower and I tried to bite it. I missed again.

It flew to a flower pot and landed on the edge of it. I sat next to the plant pot, doing a catty tail swish.

Then it
flew off, over my head, and landed on the lower branches of a tree. I ran over to the tree and patiently watched the butterfly.

A breeze blew the branch and the butterfly set off again. It got higher and higher, and flew over a fence.

I used all of my catty power, swished my tail, and quickly scrambled up and over the fence.

The butterfly was nearly at the next fence. I chased it across some more grass.
It hovered for a bit, then went over that other fence. I tried to follow it, but I scrambled up, misjudged the height, and fell back down again.
I wasn't happy, and I'd lost sight of the butterfly.

I pretended to lick a patch of my fur, then went home.
